You can view more information about the project on the PROJECT ENGAGEMENT PAGE as well as view some of the public input to date.
The City has provided a timeline that shows detailed design will occur between Spring, 2017 and December, 2017. From a cycling perspective, Bike Calgary believes some of the key outcomes could include;
Travel lane configuration that satisfies Complete Streets Policy, i.e. motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are all well-accommodated.
Tie-in with existing cycling infrastructure along 9th Avenue SE.
Preservation and enhancement of pathway space along the Elbow River beneath the new bridge with sufficient width, overhead clearance and lighting for safe operation.
Logical connections between pathway and bikeway infrastructure.
Bike Calgary will endeavor to provide updates on this project as they occur. We are also interested in hearing member comments, if any.
