Bike Calgary Community Reps & Walk21 Projects

Bike Calgary Community Reps

The Bike Calgary Community Engagement Project was created to initiate dialogue with Calgary’s 140+ communities, thousands of businesses and other organizations to build awareness of cycling issues, provide education for new cyclists and build support for cyclists, and to provide city-wide representation for  advocacy positions of Bike Calgary. By directly engaging community members and harnessing existing grassroots support for cycling within communities, we will achieve the larger goals of a broad Calgary-wide cycling network "Connecting Calgary's Communities".

Bike Calgary is hosting an orientation meeting on February 25th to invite people interested in making cycling better within the communities of Monterey Park, Pineridge, Temple, Rundle, Whitehorn, Marlborough and Marlborough Park.

Walk 21 Conference

Walk21 Conference is coming to Calgary in 2017, and as the host city, we really want to show off our walkability. We are looking for members from the communities of Monterey Park, Pineridge, Temple, Rundle, Whitehorn, Marlborough and Marlborough Park to discuss projects that can be initiated or completed within 2017.

We would like to meet with people of the community interested in all modes of active transportation, specifically with walking and biking. There are a few potential projects coming up that would be of interest that require community involvement. Interested parties may attend a drop-in session to provide input on project idea, neighbourhood improvement ideas for connectivity, etc.
