Winter Driving (and Biking) Conditions Survey

Recent blog post by the City of Calgary:

Winter is here and The City wants to know what you think about our Snow and Ice Control program.

We're asking Calgarians to participate in an online survey regarding our winter road conditions. The survey is approximately 15 minutes long and consists of questions ranging from residential road conditions to Snow Route Parking Bans.

The City is also conducting a telephone survey at random selection, in addition to the online survey.

Survey results help us gage how well we’re keeping Calgarians on the move during the winter months. Tell us what you think!

The survey is on the long side, but despite the title, it does have a fair amount of bicycle content in it. It will ask about road, sidewalk, and pathway conditions and the success of the City's snow and ice control efforts, but also about ways the City can better communicate travel conditions, snow parking bans, and snow clearing maps.  Please add your voice to the mix and complete the survey today.

long survey

not exactly a quick survey... set aside a good 10mins.

glad there were a number of bike-related questions, as well as several open-feedback entries.

Been waiting to have my say...

Thanks for posting the blog and link to the survey - the picture you have along with it is my biggest issue here with the city - they don't use that snow blower system to actually remove the snow (that I've seen at least).  I'm extremely frustrated the city just plows the snow off to the side creating a 30cm+ tall barrier to step over, park on, drive over...  In my opinon, the 'snow routes' should have proper snow removal.

Bike related - this is the first year they've cleared the snow around the weaselhead at the west end of Glenmore Res.  I've noticed a very significant increase in riders using it now.  It's great!
