We're all very appreciative of the excellent job the Parks Department is doing, clearing many pathways in Calgary. Now read this amazing story in Tom Babin's Pedal blog in the Herald about how cyclists Colynn Kerr and our very own founding director Jeff Gruttz led the charge over 20 years ago to clear Calgary's pathways, ultimately getting the City to take on this crucial maintenance task.

Three cheers to Colynn and Jeff!

Continuing efforts by volunteers

I should add perhaps that while Colynn and Jeff's inititive is probably unparalleled, maybe anywhere, volunteer efforts on a smaller scale often pay off, as we've seen just two years ago with the shovelling bee initiated by Bike Calgary member Oggie on the pathway out in Ogden, which is now also cleared by the City.
