In Toronto a couple of days ago, a motorist attacked a cyclist. City Noise captured some pictures of the incident.
Brief summary - a motorist threw garbage out the window of his SUV. A passing female bike courier picked it up and put it back in his car. He threw it back out, then threw hot coffee on her. She responded by keying his car, at which point he got out and continued the attack on her, also smashing her bike. When he noticed the photographer taking pictures, he took out a baseball bat and charged him.
What do you think about this incident? Was the courier right to pick up the litter?
Strange but true... here's a testimonial from a Bike Friday customer about his new bike:

... I received my Pocket Tourist about 4 days ago. ... [snip] ... I am police corporal for the National Institute of Health Police In Bethesda MD. I am one of three bike officers in the department, and by far the oldest. I am retired from the University of Maryland Police where I was a bike officer. I am also retired Sergeant from the Anne Arundel County MD. Police. ...[snip] ... I get a lot of looks but no comments, I look like police even out of uniform so most folks steer clear of me. I also live in a world much different from most Friday customers. I am quite aware of the dark side of life to say the least. I am using my PT to keep in the trunk of my car. Folks, a terrorist attack is coming, the Friday will give me mobility options to assist me to survive. I intend to use it for that purpose also. I have not survived a war (vietnam) and 35 years as a police office not to have strong survival instincts. The Friday will assist me in achieving that goal."
